Bad luck as Louis Vervaeke crashes out of Paris-Nice

Paris-Nice

Louis Vervaeke was unable to finish today’s stage of Paris-Nice, having crashed with around 40 kilometres left to race. Though initially attempting to ride on after his crash, it proved too much for Louis, who was subsequently forced to abandon.

Team Sunweb physician Camiel Aldershof said: “Louis had a tough crash during today’s stage and had to abandon. Following checks after the stage he was cleared of anything serious leaving him with some minor abrasions and road rash, and it’s expected he can restart training after a few days of recovery.”

Louis added: “First of all I’m super disappointed that with good legs and condition I finished the race this way. I’m luckily OK after the crash, but I’m really disappointed to leave the race. Bad luck is hitting Team Sunweb hard this race.”
