Now into her third year with the team, Pernille continued her steady development in 2019 where she picked up several strong results. That included her first Women’s WorldTour podium when she finished third in the TT at the WNT Madrid Challenge by La Vuelta and consequently ended the race in third place overall, alongside other podium places throughout the year.
Pernille hails from a cycling family with her dad and two older brothers all taking part in the sport, and she still enjoys going out for rides with them when they can. The ability to do just that is one of the reasons why she loves the sport so much.
Driven by the success of not only herself but those around her, Pernille thrives in the strong team environment within the Women’s program and uses that as motivation to keep getting better and improving as both a rider and as a person.
Off the bike Pernille likes to relax and chill, often reading a book on her recovery days. Baking is also a passion for the Dane so when she is at the Keep Challenging Center in Sittard, she often takes inspiration and learns recipes from her neighbour Leah.
