After numerous successes including two U23 German national road race wins whilst riding with their Development program, Max has now stepped up to the World Tour with Team Sunweb.
A one-day classics specialist, the German is able to perform over hills yet still has a killer kick in a bunch at the end of the race. The 21-year-old has won two stages of the Olympia’s Tour, a stage of Tour de l’Avenir, and finished second in a stage of the Tour of Denmark as well as securing a top 10 in the U23 World Championships in 2017.
A trainee last year, he is now ready to prove himself.
Spotted performing well in a six second power test, Max was handpicked for cycling. He was invited to train, alongside his cousin, and soon started racing, something he loves: “The adrenaline, the spectators, travelling, and racing with your teammates to achieve one goal – that’s what it’s about.”
Team Sunweb “feels like a family’ for Max, and he loves that the three teams are able to socialise as one.
A laidback, open-minded, funny guy, Max loves life and tries to have fun in whatever he is doing. He is determined, ambitious, and does all he can to reach his goals, be it personal success or for the team:
Away from cycling, he spends time with friends and family, drinking coffee and makes the most of recovering!
