Heading in to her third season with Team Sunweb, French rider Juliette Labous has never felt more at home. The 21-year-old enjoyed a solid season in 2018 both helping the team and chasing personal goals, including her top 10 in the Amgen Tour of California.
She ranks this result as her greatest achievement so far on the bike, alongside her four French junior national titles in road, cyclocross and time trial.
And it is with the help of Team Sunweb that the self-confessed perfectionist has been able to realise her dreams, yet still strive for more. She said:
As well as ninth in California, Juliette also picked up seventh at the two-day Tour de Yorkshire, to add to a maiden stage win at the Tour de Feminin last season. Alongside personal achievements, team goals are also paramount for the ambitious, determined rider.
She first started riding BMX, a surprising fact perhaps about the talented young rider, because her brother was riding a bike. She then jumped on a mountain bike, and the hobby quickly turned into a passion as she started racing, realising she was strongest on the road. The climbing and time trialling specialist still enjoys riding a mountain bike away from training and racing commitments with her boyfriend, and has just achieved her diploma in engineering.
