One of the more experienced riders on the team, Jarno is in his fourth year with the Development program and he hopes to use that experience to help some of the newer guys on the team find their way as they move up from the juniors.
Jarno admits that 2019 wasn’t his best year due to injuries and illness but it only makes the Dutch rider “hungrier to come back”. Learning a lot from that, he has taken a more philosophical approach to racing.
Starting the sport at around ten years old, Jarno originally combined cycling with football before he fully focused on two wheels as he saw that he had “a bit of talent” and wanted to continue with it.
Since then he has loved the sport and enjoys being able to go out and ride throughout the countryside and different scenery. As a competitive cyclist though, he also enjoys the thrill of racing and the adrenaline that comes along with it.
Jarno hopes to improve further and feature in the finale of more races, fighting for the win in as many races as possible, whether that be personally or helping the team.
Away from cycling you can find Jarno relaxing watching movies and socialising with his friends.
