As a neo-pro with the team in 2019, Cees had a very impressive opening season at WorldTour level in which he claimed three victories and made his debut at the Tour de France.
As a sprinter, Cees is often the last rider in line for the team and the one everyone works for during the stage or race, a situation which can often lead to extra pressure. However, the young Dutchman takes a mature approach to it all.
With a composed mentality, Cees acknowledges that in a sport like cycling things don’t always go the way you want but it is how you regroup and regather from those moments that make you stronger as a rider.
Like most professional athletes Cees is driven by his competitive nature and a will to reach his potential.
Away from his life as a pro, Cees likes to socialise with his friends and spend time with his girlfriend, going out for dinner or doing things that “normal” people do, allowing him to switch off and refresh for races.
