Asjørn Kragh Andersen follows in his brother Søren’s footsteps and joins Team Sunweb this season.
He signs from Team Waoo, a semi-professional outfit in Denmark, and counts stage wins at Fleche du Sud and Tour des Fjords, plus a GC win at Tour du Loir et Cher E Provost last season in his palmares.
Originally a footballer, Asbjørn found goalkeeping dull and asked his dad if he could do something new. His father bought him a bike, and from there, the Dane started riding and racing and was immediately struck by the team atmosphere within cycling.
For him, coming to Team Sunweb is an exciting prospect and the 26-year-old hopes to have an impact in the spring, supporting the leaders on the road and one day, getting some results himself too, an ambition that would be a “dream come true” for Asbjørn.
Off the bike Asbjørn loves spending quality time with his spaniel, and enjoys hunting and exploring as well as mountain biking with his brother Søren.
