ABOUT Jarno Mobach

Being a professional cyclist comes with ups and downs, something that 19-year-old Jarno Mobach knows all too well, even so early on in his career. A challenging start to his 2017 season saw the young Dutchman suffer a knee injury and his mind-set was forced to change. “The goal was for me to finish the race, not take the victory. This was different to what I had been used to for the previous years and something I found quite challenging.”

Despite the hurdles at the start of his debut season with Team Sunweb’s Development Program, Mobach’s determination shined and he bounced back to take an incredible stage victory at the final stage of the Olympia’s Tour after a gruelling 15-kilometre solo push to the line. “It was a long haul, I really pushed myself to the limit. It really was an amazing feeling after crossing the line.”

Always eager to make improvements to his performance and take the next steps in his development, Mobach aims to continue to build on the progress that he has made during his first-year riding for the team. “I like to win and that’s my ultimate drive, I want to use all of I have learned to continue to strengthen my ability on the bike.”
