Team Sunweb and the German Cycling Federation (Bund Deutscher Radfahrer, BDR) are proud to have concluded their sixth successive Deutsche Talent-Tage. Starting in München, Germany, before heading to St Anton, the camp was focused once again on Team Sunweb’s and BDR’s shared vision of grassroots development in German cycling. The location gave the perfect ground for the 13 German and international talents to undergo various testing and workshops with Team Sunweb’s field of experts, such as nutrition, sports science and training.
Team Sunweb coach Sebastian Deckert said: “Our Deutsche Talent-Tage are about more than just scouting and training and we hope that above anything, we’ve inspired those who joined us to continue to pursue their cycling dreams. It’s well known that we want to grow cycling from its very core in Germany and we believe that our Deutsche Talent-Tage are a great way for us to do that. It’s been a really positive experience for everyone involved: with perfect weather conditions and a nice group of riders. We’re excited about the time we’ve spent with the youngsters here and are really proud to have held our sixth consecutive camp.”
Erik Weispfennig from Bund Deutscher Radfahrer (BDR) continued: “I think it is really good to give the young riders an idea of the structure and the way of working in a WorldTour team like Team Sunweb. Team Sunweb have also showed in the past that they have had a lot of success in developing young talent and they are one of the reasons that German cycling is in a good way within German society at the moment. We at BDR are happy to have Team Sunweb as a strong partner and one that is committed to the development of cycling in Germany.”
