One week after leaving the Vuelta a España, Team Sunweb’s Warren Barguil looks ahead to his upcoming races with the team.
Barguil will line-up in Italy for Trevalli Varesine, Milano Torino and Il Lombardia in October riding in the team’s colours on the hunt for top placings. The two-time Tour de France stage and polka dot jersey winner will be Team Sunweb’s designated leader for the race, with a strong team around him to support this goal. After a training period the 25-year-old Breton is motivated to end his five years with the team on a high, and both he and the team look forward to making his final three races in Italy good ones.
“I’ve been home for a week now since the team withdrew me from the Vuelta,” explained Barguil. “I accepted the decision. The team chose to stick to its team goal. I want to leave it behind and look ahead to the next races again. I am glad with the team’s confidence for the Italian races that are coming up, and I hope to end on a high in my final races for my team.”
