Jarno Mobach time trialled to 8th place on the penultimate stage of the Triptyque des Monts et Chateaux in Belgium, finishing 22″ down on the stage winner, with Development Team Sunweb placing 3 riders in the top 15.
Going into this morning’s time trial, Nils Eekhoff sat 2nd overall, 13″ off the lead. Nils finished 32nd on the stage, but dropped out of the top 3 ahead of this afternoon’s 91.3km final stage.
On the stage, Marc Hirschi finished 11th, Max Kanter 15th, Niklas Märkl 26th, Nils Eekhoff 32nd, and Martin Salmon 88th.
Team Sunweb coach Sebastien Deckert said after the stage: “It was a hard TT with two climbs and a fast decent. The guys did a solid job with five in the first 27 but also no top placing at the end. This afternoon we have the hardest stage and want to finish the race in a good way.”
