Whilst the puncheurs battled it out for victory, Sam finished the day with the same time as the bunch and now sits in 13th place overall.
After the race Michael said: “Our goal for today was to make sure that Sam stayed in a good place in the GC and we went all out to do that. The circuit around Stirling was really hard and the pace was on almost every time up the climb. We were positioned really well going on to the last lap ready for a really hectic run into the finish up the climb. Sam finished in a good position and it was down to good team work that put him there. We’re looking forward to continuing on to secure a good GC result in the race.”
