ABOUT Juliette Labous

This young and ambitious French rider is one of the world’s biggest talents. 18 year old Juliette was the double Junior French champion in the road race and time trial in 2016. It was the second time she got this title in the time trial, after also winning in 2015. In 2016 Labous won a stage and took the overall victory at the Nations Cup race in Albstad.

Labous has always rode two disciplines: cyclo-cross and road races. She has only recently decided to focus exclusively on the road. Juliette’s specialties are time trial and climbing. She has everything required to become a world class rider in the future, both physically and mentally. She is a rider that knows exactly what she wants to achieve.

The enthusiastic Frenchie is pleased to become a professional at Team Sunweb. She is willing and eager to learn from the staff and other riders. “It is a fantastic opportunity for me and I am looking forward to joining the team. This team has a vision of developing riders and it is great to see that teamwork is at the core of their ideology. The team does not only focus on one leader but focuses on nurturing and supporting young riders, which were important factors in making my decision.”

Juliette is in her second year of high school and studies Mechanical and Production Science. If she has any spare time, she likes to ride her ATB of BMX. She is inspired by strong cyclists like Marianne Vos and Pauline Ferrand-Prévot. Her biggest dream is becoming Olympic Champion. “Tokyo 2020 is on my list!”.
