ABOUT Juliette Labous

According to her teammates, she’s one of the smartest and talented riders of her age. In her second season riding with the team, Labous’ specialities lay in climbing and time trials. In her spare time, you can find Juliette on her mountain bike.

As a junior, Juliette took four French national victories across the road, time trial and cyclo-cross disciplines and in 2016, she won the bronze medal in the individual time trial at the junior European and world championships. Last year she continued to make huge steps in her development by taking her first win as a professional. “Winning the queens-stage in the Tour de Feminin was amazing and it filled me with self-confidence. It’s not easy to make the step from junior to pro, because the differences are huge. The distances you have to ride are much longer and team collaboration is far more important.”

This Frenchie is pleased she started her professional career at Team Sunweb. “It is great that teamwork is at the core of our ideology. Our team doesn’t only focus on one leader, but also focuses on nurturing and supporting young riders like me. At my age, there’s so much to improve: physically, mentally and with nutrition. I am eager to learn it all.”

Labous is always setting herself new goals so this year her personal expectations will be a little higher than last year. Juliette’s biggest dream is to become Olympic Champion in Tokyo 2020 and is motivated to do everything in her power to be in with a chance of being on the start line.
